Yoko Ono ist 76 und hat ein neues Album, "Between my Head and the Sky".
Die erste Single, "Waiting for the D Train", die sie mit ihrem Sohn Sean und Yuka Honda aufgenommen hat, gibt's beim Arthur zum anhören.


Ich möchte bitte im hohen Alter auch eine Stimme wie ein Saxophon haben. Und, rethorische Frage, wie oft in den letzten 76 Jahren hat Frau Ono wohl auf den D-Wagen gewartet?

I've known Joe Gideon & The Shark for less than 24 hours and am already filing my petition for adoption. They sound like if Dean & Britta went on a date with Jon Spencer and Nick Cave. They're like the Fiery Furnaces without all the drama, or like the White Stripes on Downers. "Kathy Ray" is one of the most beautiful stories told in song that I have heard in a long time. Oh god, they are wonderful!

Fanfarlo, ich lieb euch so sehr, dass ich jetzt nach 15 Sekunden Musik das Album im digitalen Onlinekaufhaus gekauft hab, es auf Vinyl kaufen werde und wenn ihr es auf Zipp veröffentlicht, dann will ich auch davon eines. Nein, besser zwei.

The 5678's became world famous after their appearance in Kill Bill with their (grating) song "Woo Hoo". But there is so much more to them! They are like the female Black Lips. I have to get their albums. I want to be in a band like this. Here they are in 1989, paying homage to the Shangri-Las with the motorcycle intro and being cooler than Kathleen Hanna.

1901 von Phoenix ist der Sommerhit 2009 in der MyrtleMae Welt. Das kann ich getrost schon im Fruehling prophezeien. Klingt ein bisschen wie das uneheliche (und wohl unheimliche) Kind von den YeahYeahYeahs und m185. Und Laurent Brancowitz (der Mann mit den Brillen und der Nick Zinner Gedaechtnis Frisur, links auf der Buehne), we gotta talk. Natuerlich waren sie drei mal (sonst duerfen Bands immer nur 2 mal spielen!) in der Folge Saturday Night Live mit so einem Typen...Fozzy Bear...Gewichtsverlust...die letzten Paar Eintraege von Mae...naja, seht selbst...
